Blue Book Publishing LLC was registered with the state of Oregon in February of 2004.  We opened our doors in March of 2004. The initiating four members privately financed the company. The name “Blue Book” was chosen because it is easy to say and remember; “Blue” has some degree of existing familiarity/credibility (Kelly Blue Book, Oregon Blue Book, etc.); and because the Blue Mountains provide a natural boundary between our two marketing areas.

Our goal (operational philosophy) was, is and shall remain:  To provide our consuming public with the best possible (i.e.: most accurate), easiest to use (i.e.: large white page font), feature-rich and attractive reference directory currently available in our market areas and, by consequence, make Blue Book the obvious “book of choice” for our customers’ customers.  We have, are, and will continue to meet this goal.

The existing three members have a combined forty (40) years of Yellow Page sales experience.   Jon McManus is a retired Forest Service employee with extensive background in computer wizardry.  Jon is in charge of operations, production and data management.  Bruce Mulvany is a retired public school administrator whose strengths are in administration and finance.  Joel Smart is a consummate, career salesman and the driving force leading our sales team.

In addition to the three members, our office staff is comprised of a graphic artist (Michele Scribner) whose talents are well recognized as superlative; and, a distribution manager (Larry Fuerstenberg) with over twenty-five years of phone book distribution experience.  Our sales staff is composed of two full-time and two part-time employees in addition to Joel Smart.  Our sales staff is seasoned, successful and stable.
